QuantumNetX
Project description
Quantum technologies offer significant potential for the future – particularly when it comes to solving complex problems in the fields of optimisation, molecular simulation and artificial intelligence. Much like the computer once triggered the digital revolution, quantum algorithms could significantly accelerate many developments.
The project aims to create a shared platform for quantum technologies. This platform is targeted at universities, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as other partners. The focus is on the exchange of knowledge – particularly from research institutions to businesses – including across national borders. In this way, the project seeks to promote both the application and further development of this forward-looking technology.
To this end, research and innovation centres develop practice-oriented case studies based on existing data. These are prepared in a comprehensible manner within the framework of workshops, networking conferences and other events and are made accessible to SMEs. Companies can directly apply and further develop the results. A key advantage of the platform lies in the role of the universities: they are able to consolidate their broad scientific expertise as well as insights from other stakeholders and pass them on in a targeted manner – without commercial interests. This places open knowledge transfer at the forefront, further accelerating the innovation process.
