Establishment of an H₂ testing infrastructure
Project description
The successful market ramp-up of hydrogen technologies requires early testing under realistic conditions. However, there is currently a gap between laboratory-scale experiments and industrial applications. Without proper testing facilities, technical challenges and economies of scale can only be identified and adressed to a limited extent.
As part of the project, a comprehensive testing infrastructure for larger hydrogen and energy systems is being established at the Wunsiedel Energy Park. This universal test platform will allow industrial partners to develop and trial innovative technologies while also enabling the integration of own test benches. A central control room equipped with state-of-the-art process control technology will ensure seamless monitoring and management of all test operations.
The project is dedicated to researching and testing innovative hydrogen and energy system technologies in order to gain valuable insights for real-world application. The primary focus is on improving the efficiency and scalability of these technologies, while close networking between research and industry will ensure effective knowledge transfer and accelerate the deployment of research results in practice.
